Shohel completed his training and early career in external audit at PwC South Africa, working on clients across several industries. He then joined Deloitte South Africa, where he progressed to Audit Manager, leading engagement teams and managing complex statutory audits from planning to sign-off.
Moving into industry, Shohel held a Management Accountant role at Alviva Holdings, a JSE-listed ICT group, before joining Liquid Intelligent Technologies, a pan-African digital infrastructure group. There he served as Group Reporting Accountant and later Group Manager: Reporting, overseeing consolidations, IFRS reporting and multi-jurisdiction financial statements.
That combination of auditor’s scepticism and finance-leader practicality is the foundation of Manara. Shohel understands both sides of the table: what auditors and SARS look for, and what business owners actually need to make good decisions.
